Privacy policy.

We recognise the importance of data protection and we value your right to privacy. This policy is relevant to your use of www.peridotpr.com and the data collected through your use of our website.

Data Protection

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) pertains to the collection and processing of personal data and your right to privacy.

We commit to having fair and lawful grounds to process your data, and to give you the right to access, amend and delete it.

Personal data includes anything which helps to identify you, such as your name or online identifier (e.g. a browser cookie or IP address). As the ‘data controller’, we are accountable for that data and GDPR compliant.

The GDPR does not refer to anonymous data which can be used to identify behavioural trends but which cannot allow us to identify that visitor.

1. What do we collect and how do we use it?

We use this information primarily for organisational purposes, for your safety, or to make your experience with Peridot PR as seamless as possible.

Contact details

In order to collect and respond to your enquiries on www.peridotpr.com we require certain information. This includes your name and email address, and an optional phone number. We use these details to communicate with you.

Your name, address, phone and email are shared with Peridot PR employees for practical purposes.

Session details

We also collect standard aggregate data about your session, browser and device type, geographic location and how you were referred to our website (e.g. via a search engine or other website), but this is anonymised.

We use this to analyse browsing habits and improve our website and communications accordingly.

Cookies

Like almost all websites, we use cookies (small electronic files) for several reasons: from helping the website to identify whether traffic is secure or not, to gathering the session details outlined above.

You can change your browser settings to stop cookies being stored without your explicit consent.

Unless otherwise requested, information collected via the website is retained until the website shuts down, at which point personal data would be purged.

2. Why might we contact you?

There are a number of reasons why we might contact you.

  • When you contact us through the website, we will respond using the information supplied on the enquiry form.

  • If you contact us via social media or enquire via the website, we may respond using the contact details you provide us with.

  • We might contact you for feedback on our services.

3. What are your rights?

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your data

    • We will provide a copy of your data free of charge.

  • Amend and/or correct your data

    • If you wish to amend your data, you can email penny@peridotpr.com and we will make a note of the requested changes

  • Request a copy of your data

    • You have the right to be sent a copy of your data in a commonly used machine-readable format

    • You can make a request to obtain a copy of your data by emailing penny@peridotpr.com

  • Request that your data is deleted

    • To request that your data is deleted, please email penny@peridotpr.com with your request.

    • Please note:

        • We cannot erase data if it is:

          • Associated with active or ongoing services not yet paid for in full

        • Your personal data will be removed but non-personal data will be retained (e.g. revenue information and order details).

Within one month of your request, we commit to:

  • Confirming what personal data we store about you

  • Providing a copy of the data in a common electronic format or on paper, if requested

4. What have we done to ensure your security?

No financial transactions are handled by peridotpr.com. Where payments are made, sensitive data is encrypted by a layer of security so that the data exchange cannot be read or tampered with by unauthorised parties.

Third parties

Like most other businesses, we use third party tools to help us run efficiently. These include the use of our website, accounting software and social media.

When you make an enquiry or instruct us to carry out PR or marketing services, we will use some of these tools (‘processors’) to process your data. In some cases, we have legitimate cause to process your data because, without it, we would not be able to process your order (e.g. website contact form, accounting software, couriers).  In others where we do not have the same legitimate interest, we request your consent (e.g. email marketing). We will never sell your data.

Third party systems are also bound by the new regulations and provide their own reassurance against commercially sensitive data.

If you leave our website (by clicking a link, for example) please be aware that these parties will have their own privacy policies.

Should you have any questions about our privacy policy or the conditions in which we are holding your data, please contact penny@peridotpr.com.
